Curtis Ronald Hinson, Sr., 69, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired jailor and dispatcher for Dyer County Sheriff's Department, U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam War and a Baptist.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Turner officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Carmen Hinson of Dyersburg; two daughters, Adel Harris of Dyersburg and Vickie Shields of Bluford, IL.; five sons, Ralph Hinson of Henderson, Curtis "Ronnie" Hinson, Jr., Daron Hinson and Derick Hinson, all of Dyersburg and Mike Hinson of Newbern; a sister, Margaret Goad of Dyersburg; two brothers, Dewey "Doc" Hinson, Jr. of Hohenwald and Dwight Hinson, of Dyersburg; his companion, Judy Hutching of Dyersburg; sixteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Eula Loines Hinson; a son-in-law, Jerry "Stretch" Shields; a grandson, Curtis R. Hinson III; and a brother, Alvin Leon Hinson.
Pallbearers will be Daron Hinson, Derick Hinson, Bradley Bane, Ryan Shields, Mitchell Shane Hinson and Michael Seth Ludwig.
