Obituary

Cleveland Ulysses "Gramps" Clendennin, 82, of Halls, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at his residence.

He was a retired tool and die maker for Sylvania and J. & J. Cupples, member of Three Oaks Baptist Church and an U.S. Air Force Veteran of Korean War.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Burkhead Clendennin of Halls; a daughter, Kathy Rogers and husband, Billy, of Halls; a sister, Frankie Taylor of Huntingdon; a brother, Walter Clendennin of Halls; a half-sister, Elsie Webb of Halls; three grandchildren, Brian Newell and wife, Kim, Patrick Rogers and Billy Rogers III and wife, Missy; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Esley Hammers Clendennin; and a half-sister, Emmaz Hendrix.

Pallbearers will be members of Three Oaks Men's Sunday School Class. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacon's of Three Oaks Baptist Church.
