Clarence Robert Illig, age 71, of Dyersburg, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Dyersburg Manor.
Mr. Illig was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. where he worked in the maintenance department. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Vietnam war, serving as a Lance Corporal.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Joyce Illig of Dyersburg; his son, Robert Illig, and wife, Rebecca, of Hope Mills, NC; his daughter, Wendy Thayer, and husband, Todd, of Dyersburg; three sisters, Imogene Barrows of Sparta IL, Linda Hazel Jacquez of Campbell Hill, IL; Mary Ann Dobyns of Cutler, IL; two grandchildren, Dylan Todd Thayer of Dyersburg, and Andru Donald Illig of Fort Worth, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Brinley Dee Thayer, and Bo Thomas Thayer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Dale and Myrtle Imogene Morgan Illig; his son, Henry Donald Illig; and four brothers, Jimmy Dale Illig, Charles Eugene Illig, William Arthur Illig, and David Trent Illig.
