Obituary

Clarence Monroe "Did" Hays, 70, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020 at his residence.

Did was born on November 9, 1949, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Oscar and Virginia "Tootsie" Clark Sykes. He was a retired construction worker and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His passion was his family and grandchildren. Did proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart Medal.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2020 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Mac Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The Hays Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his three daughters, Nicole Key (Josh) of Dyersburg, TN, Kimberly Markham (Jarod) of Topeka, KS and Juanita Lynn Hays of Dyersburg, TN; a sister, Sonda Bishop of Dyersburg, TN; three brothers, Gene Clark of Tigrett, TN, Dan Hays of Dyersburg, TN and James Sykes of Lenox, TN; and eight grandchildren, Karlee Key, Rylee Key, Karsyn Key, Bryce Campbell, Mari Bella Markham, Peyton Canada, Tyler Canada and Chrystian Canada.

In addition to his parents, Did was preceded in death by his wife, Tina Canada Hays; a son, Jason Chad Hays; a step-son, Thomas Wade Canada; and three brothers, Jerry Allen Hays, Gary Sykes and David Sykes.

Pallbearers will be Justin Bishop, Tyler Canada, Chrystian Canada, Toby Hays, Mike Cole and Darren Tingler.
