Clarance Tarry Poindexter, III, 61, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was retired from the collections department of First Tennessee Bank in Franklin, member of Holy Hills Baptist Church, where he served as the trustee and was active in their prison ministry.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Holy Hills Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Ballinger officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathryn P. Hazelwood of Franklin; two sons, Clarance Tarry Poindexter, IV and wife, Dana, and Matthew James Poindexter, all of Franklin; his mother, Ina Ashley of Dyersburg; three sisters, Tandy Tinkle of Holladay, Mary Barret Gillum and Lina Rowland, both of Nashville; and two grandchildren, Seth Hazelwood and Katelynn Poindexter.
He was preceded in death by his father, C.T. Poindexter, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Tony Lawrence, David Hall, Rusty Grills, Hunter Grills, Cody Grills and Jimmy Whittle.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Holy Hills Baptist Church or The Dyersburg/Dyer County Union Mission.
