Clara Beatrice "Bea" Penrod, 94, of Springfield, MO, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.

She was born on July 9, 1923, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Elijah Amos Gibson and the late Gracie Gookin Gibson. Bea was a retired hairdresser and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Phill Hall officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 12-1 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her son, Allen Edward Penrod and wife, Marian, of Springfield, MO; a brother, Eugene Gibson of Strafford, MO; five grandchildren, Mike Griffin, Jeff Griffin, Doug Griffin, Dawn Short and Scott Penrod; nine great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Revel Mitchel "Jack" Penrod; a daughter, Carolyn Marie Lampert; two brothers, Johnny Gibson and William Gibson; and four sisters, Anna Mai Greer, Maggie Welch, Gladys Canada and Inez Cruse.

Pallbearers will be Mike Griffin, Doug Griffin, Johnny Greer, Gene Greer, Adam Carson and J.W. Griffin.

The family requests that memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
