Christine Stanley "Nee Tyler", age 100, of Portage, IN, passed away peacefully after a long fight with cancer on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at her residence.

Born on July 30, 1925, in Dyersburg, TN, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ben and Lou Ester Walk Tyler. She was saved at the age of 13 and was a faithful member of the Assembly of God Church. Christine was a devoted homemaker, an amazing painter, and a talented poet.

She is survived by her loving granddaughter, Julie Williams (Greg) of Ballwin, MO; and her dear sisters, Mary Chailland of Memphis, TN, and Needa Fay (Vic) Churio of Crown Point, IL; and multiple nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Kim Grosmann and her husband, John Stanley; two brothers, Roy Eli Tyler and Clayton "Pec" Tyler; and four sisters, Benester Welch, Lilly May Beard, Emma Lee Stone and Willie B. Humphyres.

Services to honor Christine's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Royce McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 12-1 p.m. on the same day at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
