Christine Seaton, 89, of Springville, TN, formerly of Finley, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at her residence.

She was a retired teacher with the Dyer County and Dyersburg School Systems, where she taught for over 30 years. Christine was a member of Finley Baptist Church and was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Halliburton officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her son, David Seaton and wife, Sharon, of Springville, TN; a sister, Doris Simmons of Finley; a brother, George Wheeler of Memphis; three grandchildren, Shannon Essary and husband, Monty, of Dyersburg, Kelley Seaton of Dyersburg and Cale Seaton and wife, Tracy, of Buchanan, TN; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Seaton; her parents, George and Tilda Moody Wheeler; and two sisters, Virginia Tidwell and Clara Morrow.

Pallbearers will be Monty Essary, Easton Essary, Cale Seaton, Joe Tidwell, David Tidwell and Caleb Tidwell.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Pleasant Hill Cemetery Fund.
