August 7, 1946 – December 27, 2021
Mr. Charles "Charlie" Edward Lepping, Sr. formerly of Dyersburg, passed away on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021 at his home in Dickson, TN. He was born Aug. 7, 1946 to the late John & Margie Lepping.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force and began his education and career path, becoming an electrical engineer. He spent many years working as a maintenance manager for many industries, including Colonial Rubber, Olberg Mfg, Holmes Intl, Sara Lee, Bob Evans, Williams Sausage and Odom's Tennessee Pride. He is well remembered for his work and impact as a teacher and mentor through the Newbern Vocational-Technical School. In his spare time, he had a passion for restoring and drag racing cars, trucks and motorcycles. He had a generous spirit and was known as a great man to all.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Linda Lepping of Dickson, TN, his children, Tiffany Daniels (Justin), Michael Lepping (Bridgett) and Hayden Rankin-Lepping, his step children, Spencer Myers (Bethanie), Michael Myers (Lacey Jackson), a beloved niece, Dee Dillahay (Dwayne) his sister, Marion Faye Fortner. He was a loving grandfather, known as Papaw to Austin Ellington (Mallory), Cameron Daniels, Ellee Grace Daniels, and Mason Lepping and known as Didley to Kinsley, Barrett, Otto and Cecil Myers, Jenna Jackson and Olivia Bolton and great niece and nephew, Willow & Charlie David Diamond.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Lepping, a son, Charles "Chucky" Lepping, Jr. his parents and brothers Ronnie & Donald Lepping and an infant brother.
Visitation will be held on Thur. Dec. 30, 2021 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home with funeral services to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Charlie Halliburton.
The family would like to recognize Zack Ellington, Marshall "Bucky" Rushing, Jerry Daniels, Eugene Smith, Bill Armstrong, Jim Horner, Rick Ellis and Ernest Mays.
