Charlie was born in Oxford, MS on June 12, 1949. He was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, and acquired a Purple Heart Medal in the Vietnam War during his service to our country. Charlie endured multiple war injuries and was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps. He also received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. He pursued law at Martin University and afterwards drove locally and in the West Tennessee area. His last occupation was landscaping, which he really enjoyed. Charlie was a 1967 graduate of Dyersburg High School. His hobbies included music, comedy and television.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Dyer County Memorial Gardens with Mr. Rick Crawford officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Rebecca Endmon; two step-children, Laura Ketchum of Ozark, MO and Phillip Lumley of Brownsville, TN; two step-grandchildren, Jacob Ketchum and Kathryn Ketchum, both of Ozark, MO; and four biological sisters, Ada Harris, Freddie Watson, Betty Howell and Gloria Keith; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Betty Endmon; his biological parents, Charlie and Anna Lee Montgomery; one sister, Beatrice McCutcheon; and one biological brother, James Calvin Montgomery.

If there is one particular trait to remember about Charlie, it was his compassion for others. He gave love and guidance to all that he encountered. He was an exceptional man, a loving caring husband, a wonderful father and provider and a true friend. His journey here has ended but he leaves behind his imprints on our lives.
