Rev. Charles Ural Runions, 74, of Ridgely, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on September 21, 1942 in Humphreys County, TN to the late William and Hattie Crafton Runions. Charles was a retired mechanic for Rolane Manufacturing. He was a member of Holy Hills Baptist Church and was the former pastor of Mooring Baptist Church. Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Mr. Charles Callens officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Runions of Ridgely; a son, Chris Runions and wife, Lisa of Ridgely; two sisters, Norma Reynolds and husband, Shelby, of Tiptonville and Virginia Holler of Peru, IN; three brothers, Jimmy Runions and wife, Betty, of Waverly, Doug Runions of Tiptonville and Nelson Runions of Peru, IN; fourteen grandchildren, Meleah, Tiffany, Laura Beth, Nancy, Chasity, Autumn, Jamie, Lauren, Kristi, Amy Beth, Christopher, Brandon, Alex and Jordan Lynn; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Runions; a daughter, Melissa Thurmond; and two sons, Charles Ural Runions, Jr. and Charles Lynnwood Runions.

Pallbearers will be Cotton Brewer, Jordan Runions, Alex Runions, Brandon Runions, Christopher Runions and Keeston Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Robison and Tommy Crocker.
