Master Sergeant Charles R. (Chuck) Coons, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the age of 95.

He was the husband of the late Dorothy Wells Coons of the Richwood Community. He was father to Jerry Charley (Susie), Jo Ann Cummins (Leon), Darrell Coons, all residing in Dyersburg, TN and Linda Burgan (Jack) from the Atlanta, GA area. He was grandfather to Lane Cummins, Wade Burgan and Jacklyn Burgan Cohen (Dave); and one great-grandchild, Dottie Cohen.

Originally from Oswegachee, New York, Master Sergeant Coons served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. He served in three wars, including World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a true patriot and loved his country dearly.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and served as an officer in the Royal Arch Masons. He will be missed more than words can say.

Memorial visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
