Charles Wayne Lovell, Sr., 63, of Jackson, formerly of Ridgely, died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was a retired Water and Oil Well Driller, a Mason, a Baptist and U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Medal of Valor.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Adams officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday at the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Lynn Hackett of Sugarland, TX; two sons, Charles Wayne Lovell, Jr. of Texas and Keith Lovell of Jackson; a sister, Cammie McCollum of Dyersburg; three brothers, William Lovell of Tiptonville, Harold Lovell of Centerville and David Lovell of Poplar Bluff, MO; and five grandchildren, Miabella Lovell, Steven Hackett and Nicholas Hackett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bennie Thedford Lovell; and a sister, Faye Holmes.
Pallbearers will be Gary McCollum, Sr., Gary McCollum, Jr., Chip Lovell, Gary Lynn Alexander, Michael Todd and Russ Stover.
