Charles Harris Leake
Charles Harris Leake, 78, of Ridgely, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was retired owner of Marlek Manufacturing, a member of Ridgely First Baptist Church where he was a deacon, Sunday school teacher, choir member and former song leader. He was a singer for nursing home ministries in Lake County and an avid fisherman and gardener.
Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ridgely First Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Rachel, the Rev. Richard Bragg and Timmy Wyrick officiating. Burial was New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Dyersburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Gwen Kaluzny of Memphis and Diane Bailey of Ridgely; a son, Jimmy Leake of Memphis; four sisters, alma Ruth Wyrick of Chicago, Ill, Grace Casteel, Barbara Marvin and Brenda Crittendon, all of Ridgely; two brothers, Tony Leake of Ridgely and Kerry Leake of Olive Branch, Miss.; eight grandchildren, Sarah Greene, Adam Kaluzny, Katie Kaluzny, Steward, Jonathan Stewart, Julie Fulcher, Dane Leake, Dawson Leake and Eva Grace Leake; and three great-grandchildren, Madison Fulcher, Jordan Stewart and Sophie Caroline Greene.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Sue Stanphill Leake; two sons, Danny Leake and Dwight Leake; and a brother, Coy Leake.
Pallbearers were Jonathan Stewart, Adam Kaluzny, Dane Leake, Nolan Bailey, Butch Crittendon and Shaeffer Steward. Honorary pallbearers were Jay Crittendon, Jimmy Leake, Matthew Gray, Chip Leake, Patrick Leake and Timmy Wyrick.
