Charles Robert Hearod, 90, of Martin, TN, formerly of Ridgely, TN, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden, TN.
Charles was born on September 28, 1930, in Ridgely, TN, to the late, Hubert and Georgie Smith Hearod. He was a retired shipping clerk with Allied Steel and was a member of the Union City Church of God of Prophecy, where he loved his church and was involved in all church activities. Charles was a very patriotic person who loved his country and also loved music and singing.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2021 at the River of Life Church in Ridgely with Rev. Clayton Mahan officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery. The Hearod Family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
Survivors include his four daughters, Glenda Wollin (David) of Ridgely, TN, Patsy York of Martin, TN, Fay Hearod, of Ridgely, TN and Lisa Stephens (Terry) of Gleason, TN; a sister, Betty Balentine of Dyersburg, TN; four brothers, Jimmy Hearod of Marshfield, MO, Johnny Hearod of Springfield, MO, Denny Hearod of Detroit, MI and Larry Hearod of Martin, TN; a special companion, Rose Young (Keith Enger); ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Mae Merrill; three sisters, Lindal Lou Hearod, Imogene Rector and Sara Helen Stepp; and a brother, Raymond Hearod.
Pallbearers will be David Wollin, Kevin Bader, Roger Donaldson, Jeremy Hopper, Jimmy Lynn Hearod and Mark Davis.
