Charles Eugene Darnell, 76, of Dyersburg, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at his residence.
He was retired from the maintenance department at Lyons Township High School and attended Holy Hills Baptist Church. He was a woodworker, collected knives and cars and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Mr. Troy Long officiating. Burial will be in McClister Cemetery in Columbia, KY. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Kentucky.
Local visitation for the Darnell Family will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his son, Richard Darnell and wife, Sylvia, of Dyersburg; a step-daughter, Sherri Ballinger of Dyersburg; a daughter, Patty Zleutara of Illinois; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Wallen Darnell; his parents, Munford and Helen Christine Mitchum Darnell; and a brother, Calvin "Buddy" Louis Darnell.
