Charles Adkins Corkran, 84, of Tiptonville, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was a retired jeweler for Bryant's Jewelry Store in Tiptonville. He attended Tiptonville First United Methodist Church, a member of Harmony Lodge #184, American Legion, and was a Shriner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 11:00 at the Tiptonville First United Methodist Church with Bro. Chip Davis officiating. Burial will be at Lake Memorial Gardens in Tiptonville. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Tiptonville First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Corkran of Tiptonville; three daughters, Linda Barker of Tiptonville, Joyce Lindamood of Nashville, and Charlotte Adcock of Tiptonville; one son, Charles Edward "Eddie" Corkran of Springfield, MO; ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sarah Corkran; and his brother, James Corkran.
Pallbearers will be John Watson Lindamood, Shelby Barker, Jr., Wil Keiser, Mackie Wilson, Easton Lebo and Corey Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon "Cheek" Burrus, J.T. "Bubba" Burrus, Hale C. Tipton, W.C. Haynes, Albert Markham and Clifford Warren.
