Obituary

Charles Van Buckingham, 71, of Dyersburg, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional.

He was born on December 20, 1945 in Humboldt, TN to the late Charles Porter Buckingham and the late Mary Elizabeth Tucker Buckingham. Charles was a retired meat department manager for Kroger. He was a member and deacon at Dyersburg Church of God. He also sang in the church choir and active in all church activities. Charles was a classic car enthusiast. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Dyersburg Church of God with the Rev. Robert Davis officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday at the church.

Survivors include his daughter, Victoria Ashley Gee of Dyersburg; a son, Charles Casey Buckingham and wife, Megan, of Dyersburg; his previous spouse and the mother of his children, Vicky Peel of Dyersburg; two sisters, Pat Forsythe of Alamo and Molly Bailey of Humboldt; two brothers, Ben Buckingham and Barry Buckingham, both of Humboldt; and two grandchildren, Lillian Buckingham and Benjamin Buckingham.

Pallbearers will be Ben Buckingham, Barry Buckingham, Jerry Crosno, Paul Greer, Randy McDonald, Jr. and Jason Funderburk.
