Obituary

Ms. Carolyn Sue Green, of Ridgley, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026 at Signature Health & Rehabilitation in Ridgely.  She was born on January 20, 1947, in Tiptonville, TN, to the late Earl and Cora Williams.  She spent many years as a baker, helping to open Walmart Store Bakeries and in the Tiptonville IGA store bakery.  Her baking skills and love are remembered through the tradition Carolyn baking the Bride's cake for family weddings.  She loved family gatherings and celebrating holidays, especially Christmas.  In her free time, she loved various types of crafting.  She loved to make holiday decor with her family, friends and neighbors.  Most recently, she requested that her hot-glue gun be brought to the nursing home so that she could continue her creative projects.  During her time at Signature Healthcare, she enjoyed time spent with the other residents playing games like Bunco and Bingo, where she won 5 games in her most recent participation.  She was a long-time member of Cottonwood Baptist Church where she enjoyed worship and fellowship.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter Tracy Boyd and husband, Troy, her son Jerome Green and wife, Jennifer and her brother Johnny Williams and wife, Cathy.  She was greatly loved as "Caraway" by her grandchildren; Buddy Moore, Brandi Gamble and husband, Will, Jeremy Green and wife, Lauren, Justin Green and wife, Faith and Jennalea Eddlemon and husband, Ashton and her nine great-grandchildren and was excitedly expecting another.  She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother James Earl Williams.

Cremation arrangements are in care of Dyersburg Funeral Home, with a family memorial service to be planned at a later time.
