Carol Denise Morgan

Carol Denise Morgan, 68, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on September 7, 2026, at her residence. She was born on October 13, 1957, in Hayti, Missouri.

Denise was a firm believer in the Lord and attended Christ Church Baptist Fellowship. Her faith was an important part of her life and was reflected in the way she loved those around her. She was also the former owner of Jim’s Grocery in Hayti, Missouri, and Jiffy Jim’s in Caruthersville, Missouri, remaining in business for 44 years. Through those years, she built lasting connections and touched many lives.

She found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. Denise loved line dancing with all her friends and loved to play cards. Above all, she cherished her mother and loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed attending all of their sporting events, supporting them with pride and affection.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Morgan, her partner of 51 years. She also leaves behind her sons, Jay Morgan and his wife, Rachele, and Matt Morgan and his wife, Emily, all of Dyersburg, TN. Her family was further blessed by her beloved grandchildren, Lafe Morgan, Malyn Morgan, Murphy Mae Morgan, Logston Morgan, Ryne Morgan, Addison Morgan, and Tatum Morgan, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Denise is also survived by her mother, Retha French Suddarth of Dyersburg, TN; her brother, Darin Suddarth and wife, Kay, of Hayti, MO; her sisters, Diane Suddarth and Derenda Suddarth, both of Dyersburg, TN; her brother-in-law, Parker Morgan; and her sisters-in-law, Linda Burnett and Donna Morgan. She was preceded in death by her father, William Suddarth, and her sister-in-law, Rebecca Morgan.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 220 Masonic Street, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., also at First Baptist Church in Dyersburg with Rev. Mike Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Denise will be remembered for her faith, her devotion to her family, her years of hard work, and the warmth she shared with friends and loved ones. Her memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew and loved her.
