Carol Caughron Mittag passed away Friday night July 22, 2022 about midnight, at the age of 85.

She left behind her husband, "Phil" Mittag. They were the parents of three sons, Phillip "Flip", Mickey and Mark. Sorry to say, they had preceded her in death, but they left her and her husband with eleven grandchildren.

Carol had worked for The Internal Revenue Service for 32 years. When she graduated from Obion High School, she joined the women's army and met her husband in Japan, where he was stationed, also Carol and I spent long years working on genealogy and our family tree. We traveled to many cemeteries and court houses searching for records, before it was all on the internet.

I remember one time my daddy, Edward Caughron, told me that, "Joyce, if you live to be a hundred, that is still a short time." She will be buried next to our parents, Edward and Alleen Caughron in Obion, TN at Rosehill Cemetery.

To forget is vain endeavor, love remembrance last forever. (Saying Unknown) Joyce Caughron Rhodes, her sister.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Mr. Randall Rhodes officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Family members and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Phil Mittag; a sister, Joyce Rhodes and husband, Harold Lee; and eleven grandchildren.
