Ms. Carol Ann Howell, of Dyersburg, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2026 at Dyersburg Nursing & Rehabilitation.  Carol was born in Chicago, IL on December 27, 1945 to the late Fred and June White.  She is remembered as a hard worker, often holding a second or even third job at a time, while she worked for Trane Manufacturing in data entry operations.  Two of those side-jobs were as a server and product sample hostess where she made sales to her social circle and everyone she met.  She was always ready for a trip to a local out-of-town festival or gathering, especially around holidays.   Her outgoing personality and sense of humor were evident in all that she did, even when she took to a local comedy stage with less laughter than she hoped for.  Her love of community, those life-long friends and family she enjoyed fellowship with and hard work were the things she enjoyed most in life.  

Carol is survived by her son, Stephen Howell and wife, Deana of Dyersburg, and her brother Alan Lange, of Missouri.  She was greatly loved as "Gramma-Carol" by her grandchildren; Lavender Stewart, Leela Howell, Lillian Howell and Bailey Howell.  She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Richard Lange and Arlene White.  

In honoring the wishes of Ms. Carol Ann Howell, cremation arrangements are in care of Dyersburg Funeral Home with interment services, near her family members, to be held at a later time.
