Obituary

Carlie Turner, 90, of Ridgely, died Friday, February 15, 2013 at The Bridge at Ridgely.

He was a retired police officer for the City of Ridgely, member of First Baptist Church in Ridgely and a WWII Veteran of the Army Air Force.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Henry officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Turner of Ridgely; two sisters, Jean Hare of Ponca City, OK and Carthel Cadman of Tennessee; a niece, Martha (Mossey) Mankins and fiancé, Michael Albert; and other loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Turner McElyea; his parents, William Henry and Lena Powell Turner; two sisters, Mayrene Thompson and Vera Holman; and a brother, Martin Turner.

Pallbearers will be Bro. Terry Lynch, Tony Leake, Terry Pierce, Charles Stewart, Jay Stover and David Callen. Honorary pallbearers will be James Harold Powell, Malcolm Chism and Michael Albert.
