Carl E. Turner, 89, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was retired as a carpenter and television repairman, a member of First Assembly of God and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Branscum officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Alberta Turner of Dyersburg; two daughters, Liz Slaughter and husband, Willie, and Pat Kelley and husband, Tommy, all of Dyersburg; two sisters, Arlene Claiborne of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Alma Jones of Lexington, Ky.; a brother, Johnny Turner of Jonesboro, Ark.; five grandchildren, Lisa McDaniel, Kim Ashley, Tracy McMinn, Lanissa Cunningham and Jeff Garrett; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Eugene Turner; and his parents, Jake and Annie Turner.
Pallbearers will be Wade McMinn, Cody McMinn, Chad Cunningham, Jonathan Christian, Wayne Autry and Andy Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Garrett and Tim Pope.
