Capitola F. Stephens, 94, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, July 1, 2010 at her residence.
She was a retired Florist, a homemaker, a member of Finley Baptist Church, where she was active in all aspects of the church, such as a Sunday School Teacher, prayer ministry leader, active member of Young at Heart, active in Dyer County Fair and active in Home Demonstration Club (Family and Community Education Association).
Services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Finley Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Halliburton officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Saturday and from 10-11 a.m. Sunday at the church.
Survivors include her two daughters, Joy Jones and husband, Jimmy, of Baytown, TX and Bobbye Wallace of Dyersburg; a son, J.D. Stephens and wife, Barbara, of Dyersburg; her grandchildren, Andy Jones, Steve Tickle and wife, Karen, Emily Claassen and husband, RJ, Bob Williams, Greg Williams and wife, Lori, Nick Jones and wife, Cindy, Joey Wallace and wife, Angela, and Tim Wallace and wife, Kathy; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, S. Briscoe Stephens; her parents, Duffy and Pinkie Head Flatt; three sisters; and a grandson, Scott Williams.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests that memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
