Calvin C. Moore Sr., 86, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at his residence.

He was retired as a heavy-equipment operator for the Dyer County Highway Department, a member of Dyersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a retired farmer, a Mason for more than 50 years, and a member of Dyersburg Moose Lodge.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Blakeburn officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Jo Moore of Dyersburg; a daughter, Pat Moore Willis of Dyersburg; a son, Calvin Moore Jr. of Dyersburg; two grandchildren, Becky Cupples Draper and husband, Dr. Ryan Draper, of Greensboro, N.C., and Kate Willis of Birmingham, Ala.; and his caregiver, Jimmy Jones of Dyersburg.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Moore Hendrix and Margaret Moore Childress; and four brothers, Charles Fuller Moore, Luther Caldwell Moore, Raymond Clyde Moore and Roger Wilson Moore.

Pallbearers will be Sammy Arnold, Chuck Barrineau, Page Hart III, Tony Walker, Jeff Jones and Casey King. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Parnell, Billy King, Jimmy Jones, Robert Cobb, Tommy Barrineau and Travis Walker.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to Hurricane Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church, c/o Anna Myers, 220 Salem Rd., Dyersburg, TN 38024; or Dyersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 2280 Parr Ave., Dyersburg, TN 38024.
