Bonnie M. Smith, 81, of Tiptonville, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Union City.
She was a retired employee for HIS Manufacturing and a member of Wynnburg Baptist Church. She was a graduate from Newbern Vocational School and was an accomplished seamstress.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Wynnburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Byassee officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the church.
Survivors include her two daughters, Pamela G. Ferguson and husband, Harry, of Trenton and Melissa G. Peal and husband, Barry, of Tiptonville; two sisters, Marie Smothers of Ridgely and Margaret Smothers of Wynnburg; a brother, Otis Mathina of Hayti, MO; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Smith; her parents, Jack and Susie Essary Mathina; a sister, Brenda Mauldin; and a brother, William Jerry Mathina.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Mathina, Timmy Mathina, Troy Mathina, Dwight Smothers, James Bryson, Daniel Bryson, Tyler Mitchell and Wade Kersey. Honorary pallbearer will be Harry Ferguson.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Wynnburg Baptist Church.
