Obituary

Bonnie Marie Housewright, 73, of Tupelo, MS, formerly of Dyersburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Traceway Retirement Community-Gregory House in Tupelo, MS.

She was born on December 19, 1940 at the family home place in Rogersville, TN to the late Ira and Clara Sellers. She had lived in various places in Tennessee and Mississippi prior to settling down in Dyersburg, TN. She then moved to her daughter's home in Tupelo, MS. She was a faithful wife and homemaker who followed her husband to various areas in Tennessee and Mississippi in his work in bridge construction. She loved her family and grandchildren. Her gentle spirit was given with a smile. She was generous with what she had and loved to listen to God's word spoken and songs of praise of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Scot George and David Minnis officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathey Minnis (David) of Tupelo, MS; a son, Jack Housewright, Jr. of Dyersburg, TN; two sisters, Lovely Benton and Mabel Matthews, both of Rogersville, TN; four grandchildren, Lindsee Housewright, Alyssa Housewright, Josh Minnis and Allison Housewright; and one great-grandson, Gavin White.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Jack Housewright, Sr. (March 19, 2005); two sisters, Mae Sellers and Joyce Arnold; and a brother, Elmer Sellers.

The family would like to thank all those who cared for her during her last few years, Dr. Ricky Parker, Dr. Dan Kellum and Dr. Charles King, the staff of the Traceway Green Houses, staff of Gentiva Hospice and the staff of Volunteer Home Care of Dyersburg.
