Obituary

Bobby Lee Shaw, 88, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Bobby was born on December 14, 1935, in Ridgely, TN, to the late Marlon P. and Lillian Woods Shaw. He was a graduate from the U.T. Martin with a degree in Agriculture and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Shaw was the owner of Shaw Truck and Tractor Company in Ridgely. He was a member of Fowlkes Baptist Church. He and his late wife enjoyed watching Dyersburg Trojan Basketball.  They loved to eat and would drive anywhere to find a good buffet.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Danny O'Guin officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Family members and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Survivors include his cousins, Mack (Marigene) Forrester, Jerry Warmath and Mary Fran Warmath; a host of other family members; and friends who loved and cared for him, Natalie and Chris Young, Thomas and Amy Watts, Kay and George Weaver and Scotty Earl Johnson.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Lavern Fisher Shaw; two brothers, Marlon P. Shaw, Jr. and Leonard W. Shaw; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Shaw and Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Woods; and two cousins, Billy Shaw and James Hall Shaw.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Shaw had the best personality and carried a sense of humor that was unexpected and would always bring a smile. He would always say "thank you and I appreciate you coming". Even during his last days, he was still making those who cared for him laugh.  He will never be forgotten.
