Bobby D. Glidewell, 70, of Tiptonville, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born on January 16, 1947 in Lake County, TN, to the late John D. Glidewell and Betty Kate Howerton Glidewell. Bobby was a retired teacher at Northwest Correctional Facility. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Tiptonville and was also a Mason.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Keefe Cemetery in Tiptonville with the Rev. John Troutman officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 12-2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Tiptonville.

Survivors include his two sons, Cory Glidewell and wife, Kim, of Tiptonville and Brian Hays and wife, Christie, of Walnut Log; his mother, Betty Glidewell of Tiptonville; a sister, Joanie Hopper and husband, Terry, of Tiptonville; and four grandchildren, Logan Glidewell, John-Nathan Glidewell, Emily Glidewell and Dalton Hays.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Glidewell; a daughter, Amy Glidewell; and two sons, Jason Glidewell and Chris Glidewell.

Pallbearers will be Shelby Barker, Jr., Joe England, Greg Williams, Craig Williams, Jeremy Hopper and Jason Stanley. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Don Yates, J.D. Downing, Fred Wortman, Jr., Jack Ervin, Skipper Homra and Jimmy Hearn.
