Bobby Joe Diggs, 85, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at his residence.

He was born on May 29, 1934, in Greenfield, TN, to the late, Emerson and Vera Mae Bevil Diggs. Bobby was a retired employee with Colonial Rubber. He was a member, deacon and elder at Phillips Street Church of Christ. The center of his life was his family and church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Phillips Street Church of Christ with Bro. John Huse Robinson and Bro. Andy Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The Diggs Family will receive visitors from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Phillips Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Robinson Diggs of Dyersburg, TN; a daughter, Jana Mitchell (Roy) of Marietta, GA; three sons, Jeffrey Diggs (Cathy) of Augusta, GA, Jimmy Diggs (Susan) of St. Simons Island, GA and Jonathan Diggs of Dyersburg, TN; a sister, Judy Stone of Cordova, TN; two brothers, James Diggs of Ripley, TN and Larry Diggs of Camden, TN; four grandchildren, Emily Jones (Ki), Anna Hunley (Jon), Adam Diggs and Jackson Mitchell; and five great-grandchildren, Harper Evans, Cooper Hunley, Norah Hunley, Sadie Jones and Gunnar Jones.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Downing.

Pallbearers will be Jackson Mitchell, Ki Jones, Jonathan Hunley, Brent Stone, Josh Stone, Tim Robinson and Andy Swims. Elders and Deacons of Phillips Street Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers.
