Bobby Leon Burkett, 76, of Ridgely, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at The Bridge at Ridgely.
He was born on December 28, 1940 in Humphreys County, TN to the late, George Washington Burkett and the late Rosie May Haygood Burkett. Bobby was retired from the maintenance department with Inland Container in New Johnsonville, TN. He was also a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Waverly, TN.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Bert Burkett officiating.
The family will receive visitors from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his daughter, Sonya Schmitt and husband, Jeremiah, of McKenzie; three sons, Corey Burkett and wife, Sabrina, of Waverly, Bobby Joe Burkett and wife, Michelle, and Joseph Leon Burkett, all of Gallatin; two sisters, Reva Wilson of Nashville and Jewel Clark of Milan; a brother, Clarence Burkett of Waverly; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Spencer and Clara Bell Spencer; and a brother, Wesley Burkett.
