Obituary

Blake Jordan, 29, of Finley, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 at his residence.

He was a truck driver, a member of Trimble First Baptist Church, 1999 graduate of Dyer County High School, played basketball, football and baseball and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Oakley officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Hornbeak.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include a son, Dolphus Drake Jordan of Finley; his parents, Dolphus Jordan III of Finley and Bernadette Gurien of Memphis; his stepmother, Paula Jordan of Dyersburg; two sisters, Christie Ricketts of Martin and Jessica Sadler of Union City; three brothers, Willard Bradley Jordan of Tacoma, Wash., Hunter Jordan of Dyersburg and Tyler Gurien of Memphis; and his grandparents, Paul and Peggy Bennett of Trimble, Jackie and Dophus Jordan Jr. of Bowling Green, Ky., Wanda Barger of Hornbeak and Mary Lou Hogg of Samburg.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Ables, Chris Hanna, Buck Crawford, Randy Scott, Brock Barr and Barry Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Jordan, Chuck Crawford, Dustin Bennett, John Bennett, Cassidy Caldwell, Adam Pate and Brien Norris.
