Billy Reed Young, 75, of Dyersburg, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015 at his residence.

He was a retired truck driver for Joe Baker Oil Company, where he worked for 40 years and was a member of the Junction Church of God. Billy was a member of the National Rifle Association and was an avid deer hunter. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Chessor officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Young of Dyersburg; two daughters, Tamala Lynn Allen of Dyersburg and Tanya Young Green and husband, Randall, of Jackson; two sons, Billy Reed Young II and wife, Melissa, of Dyersburg and Jeffery Dale Young and wife, Sherry, of Halls; three sisters, Linda Bland and Sandy Sanchez, both of Dyersburg and Doris Timmer of The Villages, FL; three brothers, Jimmy "Tex" Young, Luther Young, Jr. and Willie Young, all of Dyersburg; eight grandchildren, Leslie Young, Kyle Young, Matthew Young, Jessica Young, Brianna Young, Nickey Allen, Alexander Green and Katie Green; and two great-grandchildren, Hayden Scroggins and Savannah Cook.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Norma Gibson Young; a sister, Brenda Sue Patterson; and three brothers, David Young, Pete Young and Bubba Young.

Pallbearers will be Randy Brock, Cotton Lumley, Jimmy Don Ackers, Bedford Taylor, Phillip Bowles and Tony Byrd. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
