Billy Joe Walker, 70, of Dyersburg, died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired tire salesman for Tire Pro, member of The Sanctuary of Dyersburg, served as a Sergeant in the 269th Military Police Co. in the Tennessee Army National Guard, glass collector with Moon & Star Club, former baseball coach for 20+ years and a coin collector.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Lovins officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Walker of Dyersburg; a daughter, Amy Maupin and husband, Mark, of Dyersburg; a son, Mike Walker and wife, Misty, of Henderson; his mother, Bessie Oneida Hanks of Dyersburg; a sister, Linda McCormack of Dyersburg; and four grandchildren, Courtney Maupin, Lindsay Maupin, Carly Fesmire and Faith Fesmire.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Roy Walker.
Pallbearers will be Tony Walker, Toby Patton, Jim Davis, Bobby Fair, Lynn Parker, Jerry Edwards, Donald Ray Pennington and George Swader. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Smith, James Hudson, Glenn Davis, Wendell Walker and Billy Myracle.
