Billy Nathan Strain, 75, of Tiptonville, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born on September 2, 1941 in Ridgely, TN to the late Roscoe Herbert Strain and the late Nema Norene Gilliland Strain. Nathan was retired from The State of Tennessee with the Northwest Correctional Facility. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tiptonville and was also a member of the Tennessee Sheriff's Association.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Tiptonville with the Rev. John Troutman officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Strain of Tiptonville; two daughters, Terri Lynn Drewry and husband, Casey, of McKenzie and Amanda Hearn and husband, Jeremy, of Tiptonville; a sister, Joy Gardner of Ridgely; eight grandchildren, Brittany Bargery, Chase Griffin, Jessica Gardner, Kelly Gardner, Bradley Strain, Jr., Brooke Strain, Mary Ava Hearn and Mia Claire Hearn; and five great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bradley Nathan Strain; two sisters, Doris Stepp and Dorothy Cronan; and two brothers, Ralph Strain and David Strain.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Duncan, Dwayne Duncan, Derek Hicks, Kent Roberson, Chris Eaves and Brian Eaves. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Hicks, Charles Stewart, W.C. Roberson, Jimmy Hearn, Bryan Avery, Stacey Rivers, Tommie Bramlett and Randy Gardner.
The family requests that memorials be directed to First Baptist Church in Tiptonville.
