Billy Joe Starnes, 85, of Lenox, TN passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional.

He was born on February 8, 1932 in Richwoods, TN, to the late Marvin Starnes and the late Kate Wheat Starnes. Billy was a retired landfill operator for the City of Dyersburg and was a member of East Dyersburg Methodist Church.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Crone officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The Starnes Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his two daughters, Pennie King and husband, Joe, and Donna Smith, all of Dyersburg; a son, Steve Starnes and wife, Ann, of Lenox; three brothers, Joel White of Finley, John White of Dyersburg and Lynn White of Paxton, IL; four grandchildren, Chelsey King, Skip Starnes and fiancé, Danielle Treece, Chris Starnes and Greg Starnes and wife, Candice; and two great-grandchildren, Karlee Nicole Smith and Evan Drake Starnes.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jean Starnes; and a grandson, Jeremy Smith.

Pallbearers will be Skip Starnes, Chris Starnes, Greg Starnes, Joe King, Danny Byrd and Andy Baker.
