Billy Ray Lowery, 78, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
He was retired owner of Lowery's Body Shop & Wrecker Service, a member of Phillips Street Church of Christ, member of Forked Deere Antique Car Club and an avid outdoorsman.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Fairview Cemetery with Bro. Tom Bright officiating.
The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Hellen Lowery; a daughter, Jayne Haddock and husband, David, of Lenox; two sons, Danny Lowery and wife, Jennifer and Ricky Lowery and wife, Janice, all of Dyersburg; four sisters, Dot Hollomon and Frances Slaughter, both of Dyersburg, Patty Jeffries of Germantown and Betty Swims of Jackson; a brother, Ted Lowery of Jackson; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a step-great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lucy Lowery; a sister, Imogene Butcher; two brothers, James Lowery and Sammy Lowery; and a granddaughter, Suzanne Lowery.
Pallbearers will be David Lowery, Ben Lowery, Josh Lowery, Jake Haddock, John Haddock and Hunter Lowery.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
