Billy Dewayne Johnson, Sr., 87, of Martin, TN passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin.

Billy was born on June 10, 1933, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Walter and Annie Dean Johnson. He was a retired Captain with the Dyersburg Police Department and was one of the charter members of West Tennessee Criminal Investigation Association. Billy was lifetime members of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Tennessee Law Enforcement Officers Association. He was a member of Northside Church of Christ and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Mr. Rick Willis officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The Johnson Family will receive visitors from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his two sons, Phillip Johnson (Becky) of Martin, TN and Mark Johnson (Brenda) of Jackson, TN; two daughters, Judy Johnson of Martin, TN and Tracy Johnson (Darrin) of Dyersburg, TN; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Johnson; a son, Billy Dewayne Johnson, Jr; three brothers, Walter Johnson, Jr., Samuel Johnson and Donald Johnson; and a sister, Helen French.

Pallbearers will be Briley Johnson, Dustin Johnson, Brent Johnson and Kyle Johnson. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Williamson.
