Billy Wayne Hickman, age 87 of Dyersburg, TN passed away Saturday December 10, 2022 at The Bay in Dyersburg.
He was born on July 17, 1935 in Dyersburg, TN to the late Hershell & Pearl Harrison Hickman. Early on in life, Billy worked at Sylvania for 25 years until they closed and then began working for Colonial Rubber Works in the Trim Department. He also worked for his late dear friend, Dan Ketchum, at Ketchums Exxon for many years. Billy had a love for country line dancing, gospel singings and CB radios, where his handle was "Three Dollar Bill". He was also the unofficial mayor of the YMCA in Dyersburg where he enjoyed helping with and attending the Silver Sneakers class. Early on in life, Billy attended and worshipped at Christian Sabbath Assembly. Later in life, he attended 2nd Baptist Church and Parrish Chapel Baptist Church.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday December 17, 2022 from 1 until 4 at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Cremation services are under the direction of Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his two daughters, Diana Carol Garner (Butch) and Alicia Mary Davis both of Dyersburg, TN; six grandchildren, Brian Keith Hickman, Valerie Hendrix (Jonathan), Brett Tyler Davis, Abbie Leigh Glozier, Allie Elizabeth Glozier and Caleb Joseph Glozier; and five great-grandchildren, Andrew Addison Hickman, Bailey Taylor Davis, Jimmy Tyler Davis, Alex Scott Hendrix and Connor Reid Hendrix.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Doris June Hickman; two sons, Johnny Wayne Hickman and Jack Edward Hickman; two sisters, Carolyn Weik and June Hill; and one grandson, Jon Patrick Hickman.
