Billy Joe Bane, 88, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on January 11, 1935, in Menglewood, TN, to the late Thomas and Zellar Elizabeth Bane. Billy was a retired foreman for Colonial Rubber and was a former commercial fisherman. Billy used to pitch for the Chic Baseball Team and was a huge St. Louis Cardinals Fan. He was a very active person and loved working in his yard.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Ballinger officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Reba Grizzle Bane of Dyersburg, TN; two daughters, Jacqueline Bane-Asher and Nina Robertson; one brother, Joe Don Bane; and Pappy to his six grandchildren, Shannon Hill, Philip Crawford, Heather Rodgers, Jennifer Rose, Loretta Ubal and Josh Robertson; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by three brothers, Homer Bane, Edward Bane and C.B. Bane; two sisters, Geneva Weatherly and Barbara McNeely and a grandson, Eric Clay Carter Asher.

Pallbearers will be Philip Crawford, Shannon Hill, Joe Don Bane, Bryce Crawford, Jackson Asher and Josh Robertson. Honorary pallbearer will be in Pat Worrell.
