Billie Gene "Bill" Pruitt, 76, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008 at his residence.
He was a retired employee of Colonial Rubber Works and a member of Parr Avenue Church of Christ.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Owen and Bro. Parks Thurman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Lavenia Pruitt of Dyersburg; two daughters, Gina Smith and husband, Joel, and Tina Via and husband, Mike, all of Dyersburg; a son, Stacy Pruitt of Dyersburg; a sister, Eloise George of Dyersburg; five grandchildren, Eric Brooks of Memphis, Shellye Pruitt and Ricky Wayne Brooks, both of Dyersburg, Whitney Brooks of Nashville and Clint Bane and wife, Brenda, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia Barker and Clara Brooks, both of Obion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sadie Asbridge Pruitt; three sisters, Hazel Long, Johnnie Bell King and Maydell Brooks; and a brother, Joe Pruitt.

Pallbearers will be Eric Brooks, Ricky Wayne Brooks, Clint Bane, Randall Lambert, Mike Via and Ricky Brooks.
