Obituary

The best wife, mother, MeeMaw, and Christian friend ever, Bettye Jean Kenney Tubbs,
81, left this world after a brief illness on November 1, 2011, surrounded by close family
members.

For most of her life, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother,
and great-grandmother, but she also kept books for her husband
and for her father, Paul Kenney, for many years.

A long-time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, she was also a charter member of Hawthorne
Baptist Church in Dyersburg, where she played piano for many years.

Visitation for her will be at Dyersburg Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be
at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg on Thursday,
November 3, 2011, at 11 a.m. with Bro. Lynn King officiating and
celebrating the life of this special Christian lady.

Bettye leaves behind her husband of almost 64 years, H. M. (Charlie) Tubbs and three daughters: Linda (Larry) Bell, Paula Hooper, and Mickey (Donald) Jones, all of Dyersburg. She adored her two granddaughters, Jamey (Jeremy) Attaway and Jenney (Russell) Beasley, and her two great granddaughters, Abbey and Bailey Willard, and one great grandson, Brayden Beasley. She also leaves her nephew Jeff Beaumont of Middle Tennessee, and a niece Alicia (Jerry)Cantrell and their children, Taylor and Tyler of Newbern. She also had several loving cousins and a host of Christian friends. Almost everyone knew her as MeeMaw,and she loved that role.
