Obituary

Betty Tatum, 89, of Ridgely, TN, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at her residence.

Betty was born on July 1, 1933, in Ridgely, TN, to the late, Robert Preston Russ and the late, Maude Little Russ. She was a homemaker and a member of Burrus Chapel Church of Christ. Betty had the biggest heart, was always ready to give her time and help anyone who needed it and loved her family tremendously.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2022 in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Don Reel officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The Tatum Family will receive visitors from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the Dyersburg Funeral Home Ridgely Chapel.

Survivors include her two daughters, Kathy Jones and husband, Steve, of Ridgely, TN and Tammy Horner of Jackson, TN; six grandchildren, Jeremy Tatum, Courtney Tatum, Mallory Tatum, Tyler Jones, Laura Leigh Horner and Leeanna Horner; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Lee Tatum; a son, Jimmy Dale Tatum; a brother, Weldon Russ; and six sisters, Marie Lott, Mary Rimmer, Bonnie Stafford, Donnie Parker, Wanda Lou Evans and Patsy Ruth Hogg.

Pallbearers will be Richard Horner, Roger Belt, Jackie Howell, Danny Edenfield, Jeremy Tatum and Jayden Tatum.
