Betty J. Newell's Obituary
Betty J. Newell, 79, of Dyersburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
She was a retired special education teacher for Dyersburg City School System, graduate of U.T. Martin and a member of First Assembly of God in Newbern.
Services will be at 12 noon Friday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Lyndel Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m.-12 noon Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her two daughters, Regina Geno and husband, Chuck, of Memphis and Donna Criswell and husband, Donald Edward, of Tupelo, MS; two sisters, Sue Hockle of Dyersburg and Ann Caudle and husband, Tim, of Traskwood, AR; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Algie Newell; her parents, Jesse and Daphine Daniels Johnson; and a brother-in-law, Don Hockle.
Pallbearers will be Billy Daniels, Ricky Daniels, Scott Lucas, Cody Caudle, Ronnie Allen, Joe Hendrix, Kris Allen and Todd Mauldin.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Lupus Foundation of America, P.O. Box 418629, Boston, MA 02241-8629.
