Mrs. Betty Sue Henson Wood, 79, of Ridgely, TN, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Signature Healthcare in Ridgely.

Betty was born on June 28, 1945 to the late Gilbert & Bessie Henson of Mooring, TN. Her passions included spending time with family, working in her flower beds and being a dedicated member of United Pentecostal Church in Ridgely.

Betty is survived by her husband, of 63 years, Robert Wood of Ridgley, TN; her beloved pet, Sally; a sister, JoNell Smotherman of East Prairie, MO; and her children, Ronald Wood (Deb) of Ridgely, Mike Wood (Tina) of Tiptonville, Kim Lee (Ben) of Tupelo, MS, Shannon Bates (Mike) of Jackson and Gilbert Wood (Janice) of Dyersburg. She was greatly loved as "MiMi" by her 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert & Bessie Henson; her sisters, Asalee Hickman and Edith Brown of East Prairie, MO, Clara Gant & Lessie Reed of Samburg and Mattie Henson of Mooring, TN; her brothers, James Henson of East Prairie, MO and Lilburn Henson of Ridgely, and a grandson Patrick Thomas Runions, Jr. of Ridgely, TN.

Serving as pallbearers will be her beloved grandsons, Michael Wood, Tony Wood, Brandon Holder, Shane Jowers, Nick Roy, Jeffery Wood, Dustin Roberts & Garrett Parrish.  Honorary pallbearer will be Larry Jowers.

Funeral services will be conducted by Dyersburg Funeral Home and Pastor Larry Burkett on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ridgely Chapel. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 p.m. until services begin. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely.
