Betty Lou Funderburk, 85, of Newbern, TN, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

Betty was born on June 4, 1938, in Wallins, KY, to the late Charles and Effie Saylor Gross. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Yorkville. Betty loved her grandchildren and her family very much. She loved to work with her hands by sewing, gardening and cooking.

Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation services are under the direction of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her three sons, Charles Funderburk (Pam) of Newbern, TN, Terry Funderburk (Debbie) and Johnny Funderburk (Tracy) all of Dyersburg, TN; seven grandchildren, Claire Ladd Funderburk, Blake Funderburk, Thomas Dennison, Jason Funderburk, Brandon Funderburk, Adam Funderburk and Hope Reed; fourteen great-grandchildren, plus one more on the way in April.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John Louie Funderburk; and two grandchildren, Charles "Eric" Funderburk and Carrie Ann Dennison.
