After a long illness, Betty Autry Carmack, age 92, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

Betty was born on September 1, 1932, to the late Joe and Willie Ozment Autry. Betty was born and lived her entire life in Dyersburg. She was so proud of her career, having worked and retired with AT&T/Bellsouth. She was an independent woman who loved animals and was young at heart. Betty recently was a resident at Canterbury Place.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2024 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Pastor David Powell officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends prior to the service beginning at 12 p.m. and continuing until the service time.

Survivors include her two sisters, Connie Kee (Tommy) and Glenda Thomas, all of Dyersburg, TN; her brother, Wayne Autry (Jean) of Dyersburg, TN; three generations of six nieces; and four nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Blue" Carmack; a sister, Frances Clift; and one niece.

Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Autry, Kyle Autry, Jerry Roberts, Brad Smith, Casey Kennedy and Tommy Kee.
