Bettie Joyce Motley, 86, of Friendship, TN, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

Bettie was born on December 26, 1934, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late, Charles Hassell Bivens and the late Maude Aileen Butler Newmeyer. She was a retired administrator with Oakwood Convalescent Center and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Loren Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The Motley Family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam Reasons (Jeff) of Obion, TN; two sons, Scott Motley (Laura) of St. Louis, MO and Mike Motley of Friendship, TN; three sisters, Sandra Prince of Atlanta, GA, Patsy Hollingsworth of Collierville, TN and Nancy Stallings of Germantown, TN; a brother, Phillip Bivens (Barbara) of Murfreesboro, TN; nine grandchildren; and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Bettie was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Motley.

Pallbearers will be Matt Chandler, Jeff Freeman, Perry Cox, Tim Bivens, Bobby Childress and Marty Richardson.
