Betsy Ruth Hopper, 84, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

Betsy was born on July 14, 1938, in Mooring, TN, to the late, William Lefler Johnson and the late Verlie Palmer Johnson. She was a retired Steward with the State of Tennessee Department of Corrections and was a member of Keystone Church of God.

Services for Ms. Hopper will be Sunday, September 18, 2022 in the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Tiptonville City Cemetery.

The Hopper Family will receive visitors from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Dyersburg Funeral Home Tiptonville Chapel.

Survivors include her daughter, Bobbie Curvin (Hank) of Tiptonville, TN; a son, Timothy Hopper (Vanessa) of Fulton, KY; three grandchildren, Ashleigh Brooke Metoyer (Zac), Melodie Lou Bargery (Kasey) and Kristina Beth Thompson (P.J.); and seven great-grandchildren, Lexi Metoyer, Harrison Metoyer, Bryce Tolley, Ashton Bargery, Dakota Thompson, Khloe Thompson and Ty Thompson.

In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Darlene Hopper; several siblings, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Zac Metoyer, Kasey Bargery, P.J. Thompson, Bryan Avery, Seth Turnbo and Bryce Tolley.
